Adding drapery or panels is a great way to change the look and feel of a room. Drapery and/or panels are easier to replace than repainting a room, so you can feel freer to experiment. Colorful drapery or panels can be the bold accent in a room. The first step to mounting your drapery rods is to determine where you would like them to be mounted. Hold the drapery or panel up over the windows at different heights and widths to see which look feels best to you when you open and close the drapery. The panels are stationary at each side of the window. The weight of your material will determine if you will use plastic brackets, metal brackets or even toggle bolts. Most companies will supply the mounting brackets in the box with the drapery rod.
